Join us in celebrating this holiday season in Downtown Staunton. We will have carriage rides, an ugly Christmas sweater contest, hot chocolates, goodies, a tree lighting ceremony, a spindle tree content for charity… and that's just for starters.
Stop by our booth in the Wharf for a chance to win a laptop, printer and gift cards to local businesses on the Wheel of Lingo while your children color a Christmas picture!

Buckingham Branch Railroad will bring in their Christmas train of characters (Father Christmas, Mary Christmas, Father Time, Noel, and 3 reindeer).
Buckingham Branch will be collecting scarves, mittens, gloves, hats, etc for the Valley Mission as part of their "Share the Warmth Event". There will be some caroling and dance with our characters and community during this time at the train station.
4pm-7pm: Classic Carriage rides in Downtown on Beverley

ShenanArts will have strolling performers through the event meeting and greeting.
5:00-5:15 Christmas music in front of Stuart Hall office by Stuart Hall's Select Chamber choir. At 5:15 they will stroll caroling to SunTrust on Beverley where they will carol until 5:30.
5:30-5:45 Christmas music in front of Hammond Insurance on Beverley by FDHS choir. At 5:45 they will stroll caroling to Staunton Performing Arts (old Dixie Theater), where they will sing until 6pm.
In the Wharf parking lot near the Tree:
I am hoping to have local vendors serving hot chocolate, cookies, etc. from 4pm-8pm. (Sweet Nana Cakes)

I am so excited to announce there will be money left over in the budget from our overwhelming generosity of sponsors, that we can do something good. We will be splitting the extra money equally 3 ways between Gracie who is 5 years old, McKenzie who is 9 years old, and Maggi who is 12 years old. All 3 little girls are from Augusta county and are battling cancer. I will also post very soon in the Unofficial Downtown Business Owner page what the girls like and will start receiving happies and gifts to put together a Christmas gift bag for each of the girls from Downtown Staunton. I have spoken with the families and weather and health permitting, the girls will be at the tree lighting ceremony to receive their donations and gifts.
7:00 We will light the Tree for the first time in Downtown!! Everyone will join in singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas."
7-8:00 There will be some mingling and possibly a few carols as people disperse.
SHOP STAY & PLAY DOWNTOWN! Make it a date night or come with the family. Downtown merchants will be open later. The kick off to the holiday season! Shop at your favorite stores, then stay downtown to eat or go to your favorite bar. Enjoy the night atmosphere and charm that is Staunton Downtown!
Tales + Treats
Enjoy photo opportunities with the SDDA Witch, join the Staunton Recreation Parks' costume contest (registration stops at 12 p.m.) Costumed four-legged friends are welcome, but will not be judged on their costume. But we are more than happy to take pictures! Look for the orange Halloween posters in the windows of the participating Downtown locations!
Beverley Street will be closed to through traffic from 10 a.m. to noon - SDDA
Join us for a Treat (No Tricks!) during Downtown Staunton's "Halloween Downtown" on October 27th from 10A-12P. We will be passing out candy along with other downtown businesses!
